Goat Centre Run 1st May 2011

Goat Centre

Hi John,
Great ride out today, 'corner man' system worked a treat, lovely pace and crackin tea at the 'goat centre' - wife had to google it just to make sure I wasn't pulling her leg,

Hear Hear!
I've lived in this area, on and off, for more than 30 years, but I'd never heard of some of those villages, and the roads were just stunning!

Cotswold Run 17th April

  Cotswolds

Hi Duncan,

Just wanted to say thanks to yourself and David for organising and marshalling the run today. It was just brilliant! I'd somewhat lost faith with group riding; I'd been out with a social biker club a couple of times, but they're more concerned with showing off and doing stupid tricks than with good riding technique. I felt like I had to watch the road as usual, but also watch out for these idiots too. I'd more or less decided that I prefer to ride on my own when I'm out for fun.

Today's run changed my mind again. Good, professional attitude and a concern with being better riders. I didn't feel pushed at any point and, by the time I was on the route home I could feel that my riding was better, smoother, quicker, more efficient. The drop off system is great! I'd never thought about it before, but the way it shuffles the pack is really useful. Even though I got a wee bit behind a couple of times it was good to know that you were always there watching my back; presumably in touch with David at the front. All in all it was a thoroughly pleasant, stress free experience and, to top it all, a really nice friendly bunch of blokes.

Can't wait for the next run!

cheers,

Ride out

start

It was a perfect day weather-wise for a group ride out. Nine bikes turned up at Bicester Services for the 9.30 start. We left Bicester services taking the A41 towards Aylesbury then turned off to the brilliant B4011 to Thame. This then took us to Milton Common to take the A40 to Watlington, a wide fast road good road for practicing the of linking corners and overtakes J. Leaving Watlington on the B480 to Stadhampton we took the left at Chiselhampton onto the B4015 one of the few roads still at the national speed limit, soon to 50mph I suspect! A well deserved 30 minute Stop at H Cafe, Berinsfield, for a cuppa, bacon roll. Here we managed to pick up 2 more members then off to Streatley for the fantastic A417 to Rowstock. A departing Group Hug then made our way home preparing for the next run...

If anyone has any suggestions for routes, destinations or venues then please give me a email as I would like to make it as interesting a day as I can.
